This is how I feel about Twitter

Conan O’Brien sums up how I feel about Twitter pretty well. Here he is:

This isn’t to say that I’m not a registered Twitter user - insert shameless self-promotion here - it’s just that I think that the Twitter fad recently is completely over the top. Twitter is nice for following intelligent people who have something interesting to say. The whole celebrity Twitter thing, though? Ridiculous.

Isn't that creepy? It was a 25 degree temperature drop in just a couple hours, which is weird, but when my weatherman starts saying things like "ominous", I'm expecting tornadoes or fifteen feet of snow or something. Not just a temperature change. This was on Fox 17 Morning News at 7: I recorded it using MythTV (and discovered that we're all about to die) this morning.

WOOD TV Channel 8 Segment on Look Who’s Been Busted

The local news has picked up my earlier article on the "Look Who's Been Busted" newspaper. The writeup and the "official" video is at http://www.woodtv.com/dpp/news/Look_Whos_Busted_resource_or_wrong; the larger-resolution version that I recorded is below.

I find this pretty exciting: Glenda Holloway, the woman interviewed in the segment, first learned about the newspaper when she found my article on it. I bought my newspaper from the man in the segment who was interviewed right after the 7-11 manager. This recording is ©2008 WOOD TV.

Foosball Tournament

My friend Josh and I entered a foosball tournament Tuesday. It was great fun, but we both got totally smoked. Josh and I were, I think, the best players among our friends in college, but these guys (and one woman) are on a completely different level. Some of them play competitively, in tournaments around the country.

Anyway, here’s a YouTube video of what we were up against: the snake shot. It’s the fastest of the foosball shots, and pros can get it moving at up to 35 miles per hour.

I think between us, we blocked two or three of those shots the whole night.
